Florida’s Orange County school district banned cell phones for the entire school day, even during breaks. So kids can’t use them during class and they can't use them during breaks. They have to keep phones in the backpacks at all times. There’s a "We see it, we take it" policy.

"And on the first day, more than 100 phones were confiscated from students. In the following days, confiscations dropped dramatically. This school district has seen a drop in bullying and a rise in student engagement. Teachers report that there has been "newfound life" injected into the classroom. Students are more talkative and more collaborative." (@scrollingtodeath on IG)

What do you guys think about this no phone policy in school? I like it with an emergency policy where they can use phones in a crisis.

No pouting, no retaliation…just effort.

We need more of this 🤝

Early mornings, late nights, I don’t care. I’m loving my job right now. When you can help young people feel good about themselves there’s nothing better. That’s my mission.

Summer school is wrapping up and our high school newcomers blew us away with their college and career presentations. For many of them, it was their first oral presentation in English. They were fluent, articulate, and inspiring! Way to go kiddos and @megandwyer and @McGoonLHS
