At the height of One Million Checkboxes's popularity I thought I'd been hacked. A few hours later I was tearing up, extraordinarily proud of some brilliant teens.
A thread about my favorite story from running OMCB....
Your periodic reminder: we have great PL jobs at Jane Street that aren't just working on OCaml.
This one is about hacking on one of my favorite systems at Jane Street. Really, one of the best things we've ever built.

We're still growing our Python team!
I've heard some talk of layoffs at Google in this space, so, please retweet, and share with anyone you know who might be affected.
I'm excited to announce a new "prefaculty" position working with the type systems team at Jane Street on the OCaml compiler!
Please retweet!

I've seen enough: in a major victory for the pro-choice side, Ohio Issue 1 (a measure to raise the threshold to pass a state constitutional amendment to 60%) fails.
@TheZvi Not sure how broadly you're willing to define "knowledge"... I often use "coming to a stop on a snowboard" as an example of something that can't be taught. Without experience people lean too far one way and fall, while good snowboarders can usually stop on a dime with ease
This isn’t a prediction. It isn’t a hint. It’s just a note. And my note is, this election was a release valve for twelve years of Democratic rage in Wisconsin about Republicans rigging our state and smashing our democracy—and then using that power to rip away our rights.
I've seen enough: Janet Protasiewicz defeats Daniel Kelly for Wisconsin Supreme Court. The result flips ideological control of the court from conservative to liberal, a huge victory for the pro-choice side.
BREAKING: The @WisDems has endorsed Judge Janet Protasiewicz for state Supreme Court in the general election.
We’ll know who her MAGA opponent is later tonight.
The winner will have the Court’s deciding vote. Chip in to help @janetforjustice: https://t.co/DcOOefzwVo
