A few days before @charliekirk11 was murdered, one of his closest friends, @DrFrankTurek, joined me for a conversation on the @MaybeGodPod - we had no idea how much the world was about to change. https://t.co/HSGQ8v5N8q
Brand new episode of @MaybeGodPod featuring my interview w @jacmarino just dropped! Jac’s story of surviving years of abuse, addiction, witchcraft, and the occult until JESUS found and saved her is so inspiring! Check it out- https://t.co/cgLq8gKP5p
@karllwilson@Protestia Ok. I can speak Calvin. The Holy Spirit drew me to Him via the writings on the wall of a 1st Century Capernaum house-church. Are you accusing the Holy Spirit of baiting and switching me? Or are you saying He is incapable of drawing others to Him through persuasive apologetics?
Not just “some residents”- devout Jews, who knew better than to worship a man as God (much less a dead crucified man), and many of whom were willing to suffer unto death for their faith in Him. I’m not saying any of the evidence (biblical or otherwise) is a magic bullet for skeptics. But when I was an unbeliever, I found it compelling enough to swallow my pride and believe that the best possible explanation for this evidence is that they had indeed experienced the risen Jesus. That opened up a new world of possibilities that led to my salvation.
@karllwilson@Protestia There’s no need to be rude, brother. What initially convinced me re:the resurrection were the inscriptions (dated to 1st half of 1st cent.) on the walls of the Capernaum house, where devout Jews identified a dead man (JC) as their risen God. PTL, He softened my hard heart!
Evidence for the resurrection outside of the Bible (ex, archaeology) is what opened my eyes and led to my salvation, but that's beside the point imo. We can reach skeptics by parsing out eyewitness accounts of the resurrection and then leading them to see how a trustworthy resurrection points to a trustworthy Bible.
@TBush1689@Protestia I can understand where you're coming from, and if there's no attempt to "close the circle" by saying "If the resurrection is true, you can trust Jesus, and if you can trust Jesus, you can trust His Word," then yeah, this approach will get too slippery.
