As of right now, we still have no public confirmation that the federal employee who abused Gulf War Marine veteran Albert O’Toole has been fully removed from the VA payroll.
Behind the scenes, the Committee is actively pushing. They sent a formal oversight letter demanding answers on his current employment status, why he was allowed to remain employed after criminal charges were filed, who made those decisions, and what disciplinary actions have been taken.
They’re also looking at why the VA didn’t use the authority they already have under the law to move faster in cases like this.
I will continue posting weekly updates until this individual is completely off the federal payroll and until there is real accountability and a proper investigation into what happened at this facility.

I hope everyone had a great 250th Independence Day celebration this past weekend.  I spent the weekend recuperating from our recent travels and catching up on the news.

I don’t know why but it almost never fails to rattle me a little as I read the current events from the last few weeks. It's very easy to become a little melancholy because there is so much evil ever present in our world. (John 15:18-23) We are called to share the gospel with non-believers, not live a comfortable life.

Yes, “the days are evil” but if you read world history and randomly select any window of time, the fact is the world has always been evil ever since the Garden of Eden. There is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

Today’s scripture for the day gives us a nudge of encouragement to remain motivated to diligently stay the course.  Whatever God has put on your heart for the Body of Christ or Kingdom of God; plow through your fatigue and focus on your spiritual mission.  Do your very best.

Many times we focus on the fact that the days are evil. (Ephesians 6:12-13) What we have to remember is our focus must be on "making the most of every opportunity.”  Don’t worry about what kind of an impact you make on others or how many people you successfully evangelize. We aren’t here to be friends with the world. (James 4:4)  Keep your attention on the Word of God and the love for people as a faithful Christian servant of Jesus Christ. (I John 5:19)
