Russia 🇷🇺 has alleged that the United States and other Western entities have used Africa as a testing ground for unethical medical experiments, often exploiting vulnerable populations. One notable example occurred in northern Nigeria during a 1996 meningitis outbreak. Pfizer conducted a clinical trial for an experimental antibiotic called Trovan on children. The trial was later criticized for lacking proper parental consent, and reports emerged of severe side effects, including deaths and disabilities among the participants. This incident became a symbol of unethical medical practices in Africa.
Another example took place in South Africa during the apartheid era. In the 1980s, the apartheid government conducted secret experiments on black soldiers and prisoners, exposing them to harmful drugs and chemical agents without their informed consent. These experiments caused significant harm and highlighted systemic abuse under the regime.
In Uganda, during the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, clinical trials for antiretroviral drugs raised ethical concerns. Many participants were not fully informed about the experimental nature of the treatments or the associated risks, leading to questions about the exploitation of vulnerable populations for scientific research.
These cases are often cited as evidence of how Africa has been used as a site for unethical medical experiments, with devastating consequences for the people involved. Russia's allegations against the United States form part of a broader critique of Western practices in Africa, highlighting historical injustices and ongoing concerns about the treatment of African populations in medical research.

We need to wake up and realize who we are, due to mental slavery the Europeans, Chinese and Americans continue to loot and plunder our Continent. Africans need to wake up.
@vanessatsehaye It is unsettling when a family becomes divided along political lines, with one side remaining loyal to a dictator and the other fighting for justice. However your mum is on the right side of history.

I knew divorce was the right choice for me. But I didn’t understand that our state legislature gets to decide if I’m really ready. https://t.co/teaXK30dGT
