The Director General NCPD @DrAbeySheikh this afternoon hosted a team from the Build Project who are under the Population Health Environment and Development Leadership Programme, at the Councils Offices in Nairobi.
The team which is representing the Country Kenya, is part of a 20-member cohort drawn from various East African Countries (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania) who are undergoing a 12 months’ intense knowledge and skill building program, to equip them on matters Population, Health and Environment.
Addressing the young leaders, the DG noted that the programme is coming right at a time when countries are facing severe challenges due to rapid population growth, environmental degradation and the effects of climate change.
He also reiterated the Councils efforts in supporting the leadership program especially on capacity building as well as connecting them to possible partnerships and community engagements through the council’s Regional offices across the Country.
On his side @kenlwaki1 from NCPD who is also the Focal Person National PHE integration showcased to the team some of the key achievements made in implementing the PHE Programs in the country.
