Storytime:
My father-in-law is one of the best piano restorers in the country. He can take a 100 year old concert Steinway and, if you have a spare $85,000, make it better than new. It's a good deal too! Have you looked at the price of a new concert Steinway?
Twenty five and a half years ago, he gifted this 1914 Chickering parlor grand piano to @PrayingPsalm37 and me for our wedding gift. It was the very first piano he ever restored (circa 1988?) and the piano my wife and her siblings learned on while growing up. What a gift!
There was just one problem: there was absolutely no room in our home for a grand piano unless it was to double as the dining room table! We've lived in that same house for 25 years, so about 18 years ago we sold it to the people who were housing it for us. Our only condition was that we requested right-of-first-refusal if they were to sell. Last fall they were ready and they reached out to see if we were interested. We still live in the same small house, but now we own the house next door which my business uses as an office. Finally we have space for this beautiful instrument even if it is peculiar to have a piano in an office environment!
We're so thankful, because my daughter and niece both play beautifully and deserve to continue to develop their talents on a worthy instrument.
To God Be the Glory!
Some of the names from the revolutionary period were real bangers. Last night we heard of a soldier named Abimeleck Uncus.
Thank you for your service Mr. Uncus.

My 18 yo nephew was mowing the lawn yesterday in dress pants and a long-sleeve button up shirt. It was 102 degrees.
He's just cut from a different cloth than most of his peers.
I was planning to replace the starter in my 1966 Plymouth tomorrow, but the forecast is for 102 degrees. Now, the plan is to pull my 2024 Bronco into my air conditioned garage to do some minor improvements.
