Despite the name, at Offline base, we’re interested in both running models locally and running open source models through awesome cloud providers.

We’ve silently been running an experiment - https://t.co/KEXAUR1Gay where anyone can use any open source model for free, with no logins, and zero data retention.

We kept hearing that people knew of open source models but never really tried them.

Curiosities are beginning to shift from ‘how do I use an open source model’ to ‘how do I use CoreWeave, Baseten, Modal, and other neoclouds’. Of course folks are curious; Neoclouds have raised 10+ billion dollars in the past year alone.

A lot of talk around malicious agents, slowing down, pausing, privacy, doom, etc around AI.

A few buddies of mine are working on spinning out some weekend projects to bring more ideas to the table as to where this all can go (in a positive direction).
