@bruner_jon We are still paying for the Hoosier Dome. Can we pay off just *one* taxpayer-funded stadium before we build yet another for wealthy billionaire team owners?
I thought Republicans were supposed to be the party *against* Government wealth redistribution? What happened to that?
Holy shit. It’s happening.
Well enjoy it Hoosiers… because you’ll be paying for it.
You’ll be paying to the tune of $1-$2 BILLION dollars on a stadium that will also be exempted from paying property taxes while you’re paying through the nose on your property taxes that go up every single year.
And you’ll be giving this money to a multi-billion billion dollar Sportsketball team and their lavishly wealthy owners. Good job. 🙄
Our priorities are all screwed up in this state.
@JLKRamos@ChicagoBears And you’re just fine with the Government wealth redistribution because the Indiana Republicans are slightly less greedy than Illinois Democrats?
The assessment loophole. Your property value gets re-assessed every year. The assessment is based on what other houses have sold for in your area. So effectively you are being taxed on what other people are doing with their property. Hoosiers whose homes were valued at $50,000 are now being valued at $150,000 or $200,000 or more and they’re taxed on that value regardless of if any material improvements have been made to the property or not. Regardless of whether you have sold that property, or not. It’s a tax on unmonetized assets.
@StoopsTheCat@TylerMitchellIN@IndyDPW Bozo, the roads are just as bad on segments that never had rails. And you’re blaming road conditions on rails from 100 years ago… and somehow you think this is evidence that our current government *isn’t* incompetent? 😆 But it’s never occurred to them to do removal? Ok. Genius.
Hahaha. And we have an assessment loophole that means our property taxes go up every single year no matter *what* that “cap” is. Totally meaningless and Hoosiers are being priced out of their homes by property taxes.
Fun fact: The Bears will be exempt from paying property taxes under the proposed stadium agreement. While Hoosiers are being bled dry.
This is big government wealth redistribution at its worst.
@qntuv9999 The Commune is being built in Hammond thanks to Socialists like you who support redistributing the wealth of Hoosiers families and giving it to Billionaires.
@nostologic@AndrewIrelandIN@TheTonus@ChicagoBears Honestly Republicans stopped pretending to care about limited government, low taxes, and Constitutional values around 2015. We’ve just been living in denial since then.
Fun fact: Denial is also the longest river in Egypt.
@StoopsTheCat@TylerMitchellIN@IndyDPW No it wasn’t. One of my Great-Grandpa’s lived in Ohio, and the other one of my Great-Grandpa’s lived in West Virginia.
@JLKRamos@ChicagoBears Budget surplus AKA over-taxation. More money taken by a bloated government behemoth from Hoosier families than they actually needed to operate.
Now we’re giving that stolen money to billionaire Sportsketball families?
@smichaelodle $676 Million dollars of over-taxation you mean. More taxes taken from Hoosiers than the government actually needed to operate… just so that money taken from working-class families so their wealth can be redistributed to the Ultra-Rich?
@EricLDaugh They don’t have the votes to force the President to comply with the Constitution! Ha! Take *that* you nanny-pamby Constitutional Conservatives. 🔥
