Although this is true, global warming has been happening for decades, and you can apply this same thing to anyone with a smartphone or a fridge. AI is the worst, and it needs to be banned, but we have so much more to do to stop the devastation that global warming will bring.
AI is harmful and I am vocally against it. However, this heatwave is not caused by it. AI only started growing in popularity ~5 years ago, global warming has been worsening for many decades. There are several worse contributors e.g. animal agriculture and fossil fuel emissions.
I love learning about black/western African culture and history. However it’s a shame to remember that many of the books were written usually come from Eurocentric perspectives. If anyone can recommend me books from black authors themselves!
Kev! What you’re describing is translanguaging (“codeswitching” from outside the speaker’s perspective). Black Americans also do this “weaving” beautifully in and out of African American language (AAL/AAVE) and North American English. You even did it right here on this tweet!😁😁

@ninamonei Studies I’ve seen on Ebonics claiming as its own language is hard and little to find.
These factors also are relevant in dialects as well. So I’m interested to know more about these linguistic studies.
@ninamonei Can you explain or source where Ebonics is largely understood as its own language? Having different grammar structures, slang, and regional dialects doesn’t make language separate especially when it’s descended primarily from English.

When researching into literacy it is a reminder that literacy is not just one trait but a complex range. I have to be able to distinguish illiterate, basic literacy, advance literacy, etc.
There are different types of literacy
Basic literary
Culture literacy
Media literacy
Functional literacy
Civic literacy
Recreational literacy
Many of the literacy crisis stats focus on functional literacy
54% of adults only being able to read at a 6th grade level is not a sign of illiteracy.
The literacy crisis stats reads much more than articles are explaining
