1️⃣ Laboratory work in spectroscopy and geochemical experiments, especially ices, organic matter, and/or rock alteration. 2️⃣ Machine learning processing of spectral spacecraft data for Earth observation and beyond. 3️⃣ Modeling of atmospheric and geochemical processes of planets
I’m thrilled to announce in July 2025, I’ll be starting as an assistant prof in the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department at @Stanford ! 🎓🔬 I am currently seeking passionate postdocs and graduate students (see below)
Nanoscale Spectroscopic Identification and Characterization of Minerals and Organic Matter in Ryugu Particles. https://t.co/mVzx8qlGk6 Ryugu particles show incomplete and heterogeneous aqueous alteration and experience minimal and varying thermal metamorphism.
VERITAS is back in the budget!! 🚀❤️ The project will get going full swing this fall (FY25). We’re looking at a 31 launch (TBC). Thanks to everyone who’s supported our return to Venus!! It’s going to be fabulous 😍

Evidence of Sulfate-Rich Fluid Alteration in Jezero Crater Floor, Mars. https://t.co/25YXJj1MG7. The sulfate minerals of Jezero crater floor were deposited in moderate pH, likely at low temperature, and during several episodes.
@lavainspace It’s country-dependent but “official summer program” is very American, because many countries’ summer break are much shorter (not a time for internships but relaxing). Lots of groups will accept short-term undergrads for research support, often payed - just reach out directly 👍
hyped - feeling like past 10 years ups and downs in research scattered over too many topics I find interesting is finally coming together in a single, epic presentation. Always had trouble finding the narrative in my story, but finally I see how it comes together so clearly.
@daosorior@ScienceMagazine Wow Daniela - it's a great read! I remember when we both had insomnia during first year of grad school :) Healthy balance - all the way!
@JonesKuma Weehoo! Dumb question: when you make your - I assume super cold Titan materials - how do you move them for measurement and keep them stable? I worked on this cold mineral project in which I worked inside a freezer and then ran around campus with chemicals in a dry ice bucket 😝
Congrats to Dr. Marcia Rieke, principal investigator for Webb’s NIRCam instrument, for receiving @AstroSocietyPac’s Catherine Wolfe Bruce Gold Medal! Considered one of the “founding mothers of infrared astronomy,” Rieke was nominated for her leadership: https://t.co/yEuav1Z3PH
