@thorstenball Yes. If it is easy to be prompted then you yourself are not valuable. Whatever app, game or whatever you are building to try to sell is inherently copyable if all you do is vibe code. Prior software is copyable because it was trained on but ppl had some original and good ideas.
@dhh Naw I've seen a lot of code that AI produces and a lot of it is trash that is not worth maintaining. You may consider it "not slop" if you don't read it and think critically about what you are really doing. What are you yourself contributing if you don't even care about output?
@rfleury Fair. Seems to be hard to get both these days. Expecting basic functionality to work and not waste all my computer's resources is why I avoid Windows.
@ThePrimeagen Rip Omarchy is lame. "Linux used to be a chore to setup, difficult to debug, and full of confusing upfront choices". Say thanks to open source programmers who did that, not AI. The joy of Linux (especially arch) is designing your own environment. Not some AI slopped DE wrapper.
@bradgessler Many people still enjoy coding though. And people still trad coding (just even 1 hour a day) will gain a deeper mastery of machines than pure vibe slop pushers. Vibe coding isn't learning or creating unless you use it with intention. Most copy from stolen work and don't read code
@ryanflorence What did they actually "do"? Prompt away to copy from stolen work.
What did they actually learn?
Did they really "create" anything themselves?
