@merseyrail Thanks Linda. He only paid for a month's pass on Saturday. Does this mean he has to wait until his pass runs out in May before he can claim any money back? Plus 5% of his pass cost does not cover what he has had to pay out in taxi fare Saturday and today.
@merseyrail Hi please can you advise email address over poor service from Merseyrail again! Saturday and today due to train cancellations my Son has had to pay for taxi to work so he wasn't late. He leaves with plenty of time yet still your service has let him down twice in 4 days plus cost
APPEAL | We are appealing for information after two men were assaulted in Anfield in the early hours of Sunday 1 February.
At around 1.30am we received a report a disagreement took place which resulted in a group of people assaulting two men on Oakfield Road before making off.
It was reported that one victim, a 53-year-old man, had swelling to his face while the 54-year-old male victim sustained a head and rib injuries.
Officers attended and the two victims declined medical attention.
Following the incident the 54-year-old man returned to Scarborough where he sadly passed away yesterday morning (Tuesday 3 February) following a medical episode. A post-mortem will take place to establish his cause of death.
CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or motorists who were in the area at that time to contact us.
It is believed that two taxi drivers had pulled over during the incident and a member of the public was present and may have captured part of the incident on their phone.
Detective Inspector Natalie Charlesworth said: “First and foremost our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the man who has died.
“We are appealing for anyone with information on the assault to please come forward to assist the investigation.
“North Yorkshire Police are leading the investigation into his death. We are keeping an open mind until we know the cause of death, and are conducting extensive enquiries so his family can get answers.
“We are aware that people were in the area and may have witnessed the incident and we urge them to please contact us as soon possible.
“We also very keen to speak to the two taxi drivers and the member of the public to please contact us as a matter of urgency.”
If you have information on the assault or have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, please contact Merseyside Police social media desk via X @MerPolCC or on Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ with reference 26000086304.
