@nikicaga The ARP bailing out pensions and unions still moving towards Trump a bit black pilled many liberals. It should be noted that Kamala did better with union workers than non-union working-class voters, so I don't think it was completely useless.
@fawfulfan A big example of this was when Disney bought Fox Studios. You are free to disagree with the merger, but Disney still competes with Netflix, Amazon, Comcast, and Warner Bros. There are multiple companies that are bigger or about the same size as Disney.
@peterawolf Their mistake was not doing a good enough job to build up their own media space that promoted them; it was fair not to trust a lot of the traditional media and influencers.
@mattyglesias I think embracing UBI should be a thing liberals should adopt. There is a lot of economic growth in America, but a lot of Americans don't feel it or think that it is bad, like causing things like AI raising electricity prices.
Let me explain the Kashmir conflict using a direct American parallel:
Imagine if, after the Civil War, the US permanently split into 2 nations: the progressive, secular Union in the North (India), and a regressive, hostile society of slave owners in the South (Pakistan). (1/8)
@agraybee Crime is lower now in the United States than it was in the 80s and 90s, a time the right seems nostalgic for. So many problems would not be around if the media didn't dedicate itself to making people think crime is higher.
