$MTNB 8/14 Business updates
https://t.co/wmW4SQE8iW
Key notes
* π€ with an undisclosed global partner for MAT2203, no money
* Added more compassionate use patients
* LNC-miraplatin was toxic, looking for a new chemo
* Ran into complications with LNC-oligos
* Still in R&D phase
* MAT2203 P3 (ORALTO) remains paused, no development
Q/A notes
* Nonbinding means only a framework, no agreement yet
* Designing the 12 week endpoint of ORALTO is slow, added longer term safety as a new secondary endpoint, cost effective pricing
A thought for @PhRMA regulatory policymakers:
Regulatory time gets added as compensation for unclear FDA submission requirements that lead to CRLs.
The FDA should be held accountable for moving goal posts.
Let the general public roast the FDA to do better work.
5/9 $MTNB business updates:
* prototyping LNC-miriplatin (cisplatin)
* 2Q24 ETA partnership - partners wanted FDA ORALTO agreement first, mgmt wants them to cover preclinicals and drive
* a few quarters from new LNC products plus 2 years from IND
* $18M cash runway until 2Q25

While LAmB is better, the answer isn't straightforward. Physicians need to decide, such as if MAT2203's less toxic profile is right for patients (chronic vs. non-chronic cases, immune dysfunctions).
4/30 The key news the company was trying to say, which PR failed at clarifying, was they switched MAT2203's comparator from deoxycholate amphotericin B (DAmB) to liposomal amphotericin B (LAmB) formulation, and they simply saw positive outcomes for researchers/FDA to consider.
Lead manuscript author Ashraf Ibrahim, PhD at the Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center comments on the study results of Matinas' MAT2203 published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy: https://t.co/AuOTpW6ndK $MTNB
@MatinasBio Though you probably already know this, discovering e-microRNA targets is possible with deep learning RNA sequences. It represents a novel way to discover new targets for Targetsite Therapeutics Corporation's miR466i-3p asset.

3/28 Results from Matinas's 22-day mice toxicity study:
IV docetaxel group = 20% avg. peak weight loss
LNC-docetaxel (dosed 8x more than IV) = no weight loss
Saline = no weight loss
HER2/3/4 cancer treatment are new trajectories.
@NIH@BARDA@Matinas Start talking.

@KobeissiLetter While a pullback is healthy, AI hardware memory and bandwidth requirements are woefully inadequate to process serious text inputs. There is still a long way to go for AI growth.
@MatinasBio The news update from today 2/26 does not answer this question:
Does ORALTO align to a safer broadspectrum antifungal labeling with the @US_FDA? We need to know that MAT2203 will maximally reach every patient who needs it and across countries with MRAs in place.

@MatinasBio The main question everyone wants to know is why @MatinasBio did not push DAmB for induction then use MAT2203 versus LAmB for consolidation and maintenance. Starting with LAmB for induction seems to place MAT2203 into a second- or third-line treatment. Explain?
2/26 MAT2203 resolved/improved the conditions of a wide variety of fungal infections for 12 of 15 patients. 3 patients left treatment due to their underlying diseases. @US_FDA must consider MAT2203 for broadspectrum status due to continued evidence.

@ScottGottliebMD How can we explain that the @US_FDA expects the quantity of data over the quality of data when it comes to antimicrobials, but in other areas accepts the opposite? And why for existing active moieties that companies like Matinas have to effectively redo studies?

"5FC can induce resistant Cryptococcus mutants."
"There is no evidence of baseline resistance to 5FC or incident resistance during combination therapy with oral or IV amphotericin B in Uganda. Oral amphotericin B can safely be used in combination with 5FC."
