Nepal is currently serving as a member of the #UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Nepal also holds the Presidency of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for 2025–2026.

At today’s ECOSOC Management Segment meeting on the policy recommendations of the Committee on World Food Security, Nepal emphasized the importance of increased investment and financing, technology transfer and innovation in agriculture and agrifood systems.

#Nepal also highlighted the need for stronger support to smallholder farmers and small and medium-sized enterprises through improved market access, affordable credit, fair prices for agricultural produce and the adoption of modern farming practices, among others.
