Open Letter
To the President of the Russian Federation
From the President of Ukraine
When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine viewed you positively. That is how it was. But that is now in the past.
Now, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view it positively that our long-range drones paid a visit to the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. As you know very well, that distance is not the limit of our capabilities.
Unfortunately, the current level of supplies for our air defense does not allow us to intercept a significant share of missiles. Last night, there were hits. 130 people were injured. Tragically, 22 people were killed, including two children. My condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones.
We know from intelligence that another large-scale strike may come as soon as tonight. All our partners together, and everyone in Europe, should continue working to ensure missiles for our air defense, as well as the systems, critical intelligence, and other things that help to save lives.
It is crystal clear that Europe needs its own anti-ballistic system with sufficient volumes and strength to guarantee protection against any threat.
Joanna Cherry has said she'll rejoin the SNP if John Swinney resigns and Stephen Flynn takes over as leader. We'd hazard Flynn will view that as a warning and take appropriate safeguards in the event he becomes leader.
Russia is now threatening other nearby countries far more openly than before. Every neighbor of Russia heard what was said about Armenia, whose people are the only ones who have the right to decide and will choose the future of their country. What Russia says about Armenia is, in truth, not about Armenia alone.
No one can be left without support – Europe has no right to lose any of its peoples, to leave any country behind. Armenia must be supported. Moldova must be supported. The Baltic states. Azerbaijan must be supported. We must find ways to support the people of Georgia as well – and this is a shared European task. No one can be lost.
@afneil How dare you, really. With the example of Donald Trump, grifter supreme, you offer this crap attack on our First Minister? That’s not journalism and is unworthy of you. Shame!
It’s very important for people to understand that Ian Blackford was instrumental in helping Nicola shut down scrutiny and demonise anyone who dared to scrutinise the party’s internal governance, lack of an independence strategy and damaging embrace of identity politics.
I think most fair minded Scots would agree that the British Establishment has pivoted every gun in its arsenal on @theSNP: https://t.co/5FW1EvIruT The debate has turned from the criminal Murrell to try to destroy Scottish democracy. It's sinister & dangerous.
