A frontier model just got pulled from the market by government order.
The company that built it didn’t make the call.
Anthropic got an export control directive at 5:21pm ET and had to disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for every customer the same evening. The order targets foreign nationals, and you can’t filter that in real time, so everyone loses access.
Other Claude models stay up. But the precedent is now set: a deployed model can go offline on a federal letter. If you build on this stuff, keep a fallback wired in.
@nickshirleyy@EricLDaugh I live in Cook County(Chicago). I want eyes of the nation on this. But it's not only Pritzker. It's the embedded siphon engine. Tell @nickshirleyy to start with the the pension system, then the sale of the parking rights in the city to a 3rd party corporate entity. GL!
I'm forced to scope and BOM LTE for internet DR paths purely for lack of options. it's 2026. Can I replace LTE with Starlink for SIP/RTP traffic for a DR route? If so, how do I SKU it? School systems direly need options @Starlink
@boxswapper It’s not just a compute supply argument. It’s increasing an architecture debate. 8086 is on the way out Apple, ARM, Nvidia, and maybe a few startups are fighting to create the new HPC standards. Intel and x86 compatibles are not positioned well for this.
