Thatcher's right-to-buy policy has decimated the UK's housing stock and has allowed private landlords to expand their property portfolios and exploit renters.
The Green Party is clear. The government should scrap right-to-buy and invest properly in genuinely affordable housing.
@JosieCSapien@StagecoachSW Yes, Labour are totally failing bus passengers, despite promising the "biggest overhaul to buses in a generation" with the new Buses Bill. They are allowing local authorities to take control of bus services, but are driving people away from using them with a 50% fare hike.
💰Never more, but never less than £3 eh?
⚠️We're hearing from drivers that single fares in #Exeter will rise from £2 to £3 in Jan.
😳If true, that's an overnight 50% hike in fares for the city's passengers.
Can you confirm please @StagecoachSW
@jakegill83@StagecoachSW Indeed, but note it still says, "Single ticket issued under the DfT's £2 capping scheme", which will be no more by then. We need clarification from @StagecoachSW
❗We say the sale of this precious green field should be delayed until the case has been made to the public that the company planning the energy plant have proved there is no alternative brownfield site that could be used. Full story: https://t.co/gKF6UPOP93
❓Should Labour-led #Exeter City Council flog off a green field within the Riverside Valley Park - and a valuable site for nature - so an industrial energy centre complex can be built on it?
The only way to end fiasco of water company shareholders growing rich while sewage is dumped in our rivers & customers are left to pick up the bill is to put failing water companies into special administration & then bring them back into public ownership
