Fact: the Jewish Agency not only failed to prioritize rescue during the Holocaust, but actively blocked rescue of unfavored classes of Jews, including ultra-Orthodox rabbis and "Hebrew Christians" (Jewish converts to Christianity).

Pic related is the 9 June 1944 report by Christopher Eastwood, a senior British Colonial Office official who worked on Palestine affairs. Eastwood notes that the Jewish Agency refused to approve visas to a group of (mostly ultra-orthodox) rabbis as well as "Hebrew Christians" (ethnically Jewish converts to Christianity), despite the fact that these groups were threatened with extermination. Because of this, the British considered attempting to get the Hebrew Christians Mauritius visas, given that their lives were on the line.

Jewish Agency obstructionism of rescue is confirmed by Solomon Schonfeld, a one of the architects of the scheme to rescue Orthodox rabbis to which Eastwood refers here; as well as the records of the Hebrew Christian organizations. It should also be noted that Hebrew Christians, as "racial Jews," faced extermination at the hands of the Nazis just as other Jews did.
