RE: Capital gains tax. What people are failing to realize, is that 20% of the population is over 65. Many of this population is holding assets that will be inherited by lower-middle class people who will in turn now pay higher capital gains taxes on these assets.
@Reil76 You are literally pointing out every reason we are in a recession and blaming Trump... meanwhile we're the only country in a recession despite everyone else having to deal with the same tariff chaos.
@CasperOnChain Then how come I lived paycheck to paycheck for the last 12 years but still came out with a net of over $300k to my net worth? That would never have happened if I was renting.
@heath_coghlan@NolteNC I just looked at flyers for 3 grocery stores who ALL had 12 packs of coke products on sale for $5.75. That's about 48c per can. So round up to a $1 for 2 cans.
@TheEXECUTlONER_ When it rains and they aren't able to mow it for a week it's a lot more work for them when they are able as the grass is twice as long and thick.
@gotrice2024 $2000 fridge and they only give you $50? It's worth a lot more than that to them. But yes, I'd take it still if it's hidden. But I'd push for more credit.
@yonann 1) 8%? Where? I just got a 4% rate.
2) As you pay it down you pay less in interest.
3) Average inflation of home prices is higher than the current interest rates on mortgages.
@Colorado_N8tive@BillWiIdin What money saved? Don't forget that any portion of your mortgage payment that doesn't go towards interest, is merely an investment into your equity position of the home.
@BillWiIdin Stop looking at a mortgage payment as the entire cost of housing. You should only consider the interest portion as a "cost". The portion toward the principal is just an investment into your equity. A $2500/m rent payment is NOT the same cost as a $2500/m mortgage payment.
@BillWiIdin Buying a home is the only investment you can make that you earn the inflation value as if you own 100% despite putting very little towards it. Eg. I buy a $500k home put $25k down. After 5 years I've spent a total of ~$160k but have equity of over $180k and it will grow faster
