@ericjackson A 50-year mortgage is not the way to make home ownership more affordable:
Loan: $500,000 @ 6.5%
• Year 1: owe $498,637
• Year 10: owe $481,433
• Year 25: owe $417,440
• Year 45: owe $144,054
$1.16M in interest! Instead, increase supply by reducing the barriers to building.
@mikealfred@elonmusk The pay package is mostly forward-looking, not a reward for the past. If he doesn't hit the numbers, he doesn't get paid. And the numbers, including an 8.5 trillion market cap from a present 1.43 trillion, are sky-high. If he hits the marks, he should get paid.
@mikealfred I am worried that the power constraints are going to create oversupply. Everybody is making gpus now too. Might actually lead to the administration opening up towards selling better chips to China, though.
@Jason .@Polymarket creating a market that can be settled by literally throwing an object at a game is wild. This isn’t prediction—it’s incentivized disruption. At some point, it crosses the line from betting to baiting.
@mikealfred It depends on how fast we reach each price. If Bitcoin were to hit 150k within 30 days, it could generate excitement and draw in retail investors. But if it takes two years, it will be underwhelming. AI plays are drawing retail eyeballs and liquidity.
@benjamincowen The crypto war has its winners: Bitcoin and stablecoins. BTC is near ATH, Circle's surging post-IPO—and everything else feels irrelevant in the middle of the AI revolution. The market has spoken.
@JoeCarlasare You don't need to get to a Mad Max type situation in order for gold to have increased utility. Physical gold can't be seized electronically by a corrupt government, for instance.
@Tesla I've had fsd for a couple of years now. It's great, but I turn it off in situations where it has had troubles in the past. Does this graph account for some drivers only using it in "easier" situations?
