Ending 2022 on a high note with the Bennett Lab’s first paper! Excited to finally share this work! TLDR: We (@FChrisBennett and @BlurtonJonesLab) engineered an inhibitor-resistant human CSF1R variant that can be used for microglial replacement. 🧵 below.
Microglia replacement via vascular delivery and no toxic preconditioning? Now THAT is something I can get excited about. In our new paper we find that microglia replacement can now be achieved by peripheral delivery w/ no irradiation or chemo required.

We are excited that our work describing microglia cannibalism is now officially in press! https://t.co/9mrfB0gC2Z
Stay tuned because we are on to the genetic mechanisms! 😀
Thrilled to share new work from our lab led by @mitchkim_mw! The results provide new insight to immune privilege and hopefully diagnostic/therapeutic tools || Endogenous self-peptides guard immune privilege of the central nervous system | Nature https://t.co/Db86b5JKvv
New paper ALERT!! @MaraCowen discovered and defined how conserved autism-associated genes modify a 'social' behavior in C. elegans!! So proud of her work in the lab! https://t.co/UpUBIdbEqn
Excited to share our new paper where we explore why dCas9-KRAB protein levels drop so drastically after neuronal differentiation in WTC11 and KOL2.1J iPSC lines.

One of the best ways to spend a sunny day in Philly is with these brilliant, creative, and fun people! So honored to work with this awesome team! Happy #newpi Morris-Blanco Lab #strokeresearch
Congrats to @ChildrensPhila's Dr. Evan Weber, recipient of the @NIHDirector's New Innovator Award! Dr. Weber will pursue a novel approach to reprogram T cells with enhanced tumor killing function, paving the way for more efficacious #cancer therapeutics.

Tremendously proud to share my fellowship work, online today in @NatureMedicine. We tried to understand why CAR T therapy for AML doesn't work as well as we hoped it would, and how we can solve that. 👇🧵1/10
