The Fairbanks Independence Day Parade was great! It is the first Fourth of July parade in the city in more than 50 years, and it was a hit. Lots of participants, lots of spectators. And there's still more things to do the next few days! #Happy4thofJuly

Sen. Wielechowski said he's extremely disappointed that Senate Finance Committee members said they would support a budget amendment to spend $14 million for a Fairbanks to Seward trail, and they're going back on their word. The amendment fails, 2-5. #akleg

No injuries are reported, and fire crews say it's going to burn for a while, so heads up on that, Fairbanks, as you see smoke through the evening from the south side.
