FDOT’s partnership with law enforcement is essential to the safety of our roadways. Innovative programs like the Enhanced Law Enforcement Engagement Program in @MyFDOT_Tampa allow us to leverage our collaboration to keep our communities safe & moving. We appreciate everything you do for Florida!
FDOT District 7 started the Enhanced Law Enforcement Engagement (ELEE) program to partner with local & state law enforcement to address dangerous behaviors such as speeding, aggressive driving & impaired driving. ELEE helps make communities safer. #FDOTStrong
Under @GovRonDeSantis’ leadership, Florida has completely transformed its emergency response efforts. Less bureaucracy, more coordination across agencies like @FLSERT and @FLHSMV, and year-round preparations allow us to better serve communities when they need it most.
We have made historic investments in infrastructure hardening and emergency management. Today in Orlando, at the start of the Atlantic hurricane season, I was proud to announce another step to ensure that Florida remains the national model for disaster preparedness and recovery.
The Coalition for Operational Readiness in Education (CORE) is a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together state agencies, colleges, and private-sector partners to strengthen the future of Florida’s emergency management workforce. CORE will position Florida as the worldwide epicenter of talent development, training, and technology at the cutting edge of emergency management and disaster recovery.
A strong transportation system depends on strong partnerships. This is a well‑deserved recognition for a partner who helps deliver real results for Florida.
Collaboration. Leadership. Partnership. The 2026 #Transportation Conference brought Florida's transportation community together to shape the future of infrastructure. Congratulations to @MaryamGhyabi, recipient of the 2026 Ben Watts Partnership Award! #ACECFL@MyFDOT
Through continued strategic investments, FDOT is proud to support our partners at @JAXPORT to help bring this project to life and reinforce Florida’s position as a national leader in automotive logistics.
Halfway there and built for what’s next 🚗
Construction on JAXPORT’s new vehicle berth is now 50% complete, paving the way for greater capacity, efficiency and flexibility as vehicle volumes grow.
Slated for completion in early 2027, the new Berth 21 will be Blount Island’s third dedicated vehicle berth. It’s part of a $60 million investment, funded in part by @MyFDOT, to increase JAXPORT’s vessel-handling capability while maintaining efficient operations for auto customers.

Today is the start of hurricane season, a time of year Floridians know all too well!
Year after year, we deal with the threat of hurricanes, and in all things, serving our communities is at the heart of everything we do.
Whatever this year may bring, FDOT is prepped and #ReadytoServe
Former FDOT Secretary Ben Watts was a true visionary who left a lasting impact on FDOT and the transportation industry. After his passing last year, I can’t think of a better way to honor his legacy than bringing together all the former FDOT leaders at @ACECFL for a panel to discuss how each of us were directly influenced by his leadership.
Americans who have given what Abraham Lincoln called “the last full measure of devotion” occupy a special place in our nation’s history.
As we commemorate America 250 by celebrating the birth of freedom represented by the Declaration of Independence, it is important to point out that not a single Founding Father believed either the Declaration or the Constitution (created in the decade following the American Revolution) guaranteed the perpetuation of a free society.
They all understood that creating a framework for a republican form of government was necessary but not sufficient to ensure the preservation of individual liberty. The American experiment would require hard work — and each generation of Americans would have to do its part when freedom was at risk.
No group has given more in service of this experiment than those who we honor on Memorial Day. Without their sacrifice, the preservation of a constitutional system would be impossible — and there would not be a celebration for America 250.
They fought the good fight, they finished the race, they kept the faith.
And we will be forever in their debt.
Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
FDOT is proud to commemorate our nation’s heroes through Florida’s Freedom Forever Trail at the I-75 Welcome Center, a living memorial to their courage, service, and sacrifice to the freedoms we know and love.
As America celebrates its 250th birthday this year, we remember those who made it possible through their service and sacrifice.
As we approach America’s 250th birthday, we encourage everyone to take time on Memorial Day to remember the fallen service members who we honor today. We are forever grateful for those who gave their lives to protect our people and our freedoms.
Florida’s rail network is a critical asset for powering economic growth, adding an economic value of over $83 billion between freight and passenger rail systems.
Florida’s rail heritage is deeply intertwined with our state’s economic growth and development. Since the early 19th century, trains have fueled Florida’s expansion through industrial, agricultural, and passenger travel.
As a state with so much historical significance, our agency goes to great lengths to preserve Florida's rich history. Our FDOT teams even employ archaeologists to assist on all of our construction and maintenance projects.
Given its extensive and rich history, every FDOT project in St. Augustine is conducted with extreme diligence.
Archaeologists monitoring a 2023 project on King Street made the remarkable discovery of a wooden ship buried 13 feet below the ground. The excavation of this 1800s vessel, known as a Sharpie, was recovered and is currently undergoing preservation at the St. Augustine Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) located at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum (https://t.co/VURj4bQ3Oc). FDOT continues its partnership with the City of St. Augustine and local agencies to find a forever home for the vessel once it is ready for exhibition. @America250
Through FDOT’s Spaceport Improvement Program, our agency is continually supporting Florida’s space industry through record investments in infrastructure that make milestones like these possible.
Florida has been making history as the place for space for over 70 years, including the first American astronaut launch taking off from the Space Coast in 1961.
Throughout the decades, our state has continued to push boundaries and break records to maintain the title of America’s busiest spaceport. From reaching over 109 launches in 2025 to the successful Artemis II Mission last month, we are continuing that momentum as we soar to new heights.
@America250FL
When @GovRonDeSantis asked us to deliver projects faster, we invented a new construction delivery method unlike anything else in the country. The @MyFDOT team is focused on finding solutions and delivering projects that keep Florida moving.
Today in Volusia County, I was proud to announce the groundbreaking of the reconstructed I-95 and U.S. 1 interchange a year ahead of schedule.
Florida has led the nation in economic growth in recent years, and we have prioritized expanding and improving our infrastructure. Through the
Moving Florida Forward initiative, @MyFDOT has expedited critical transportation projects in regions experiencing high population growth.
One of those projects is the modernization of the I-95 and U.S. 1 interchange, to improve traffic flow and relieve congestion on one of Florida’s busiest roadways. We’re also pioneering a new process, Modified Phased Design Build, which is projected to save over $70 million on this project. Those cost savings can then be used to fund other important transportation upgrades for our state.
FDOT’s continued investments in safety innovations for our work zones are a part of our bigger picture approach to eliminate traffic fatalities and ensure everyone gets home safely. Please help keep our road crews safe in work zones. Remember to slow down, move over, and stay alert and free of distractions.
Road crews work close to live traffic around the clock to improve our transportation system, and we all play a role in helping to keep them safe.

Florida’s seaports help keep the supply chain moving in the 15th largest economy in the world. Under Governor DeSantis’ leadership we continue to make record investments in seaport infrastructure. Great work from our partners at @JAXPORT
Fits right in🏗️
Over the weekend, our team rolled JAXPORT’s newest container crane into place at our Talleyrand terminal.
The crane will be operational this summer and is part of a $93 million program to upgrade and modernize JAXPORT’s crane fleet.
This investment—made possible with support from our #jaXportpartners at @MyFDOT - enhances our ability to move cargo faster and more efficiently, helping drive job growth and economic opportunity across our region and state.
As Florida and the Southeast continue to grow, so does the demand for efficient cargo operations.
Thank you to all of our JAXPORT employees who made this move a success.

Capital Circle Phase 1 widening finishing a year ahead of schedule. Capital Circle Phase 2 now underway advanced by more than a decade. Thanks to @GovRonDeSantis Moving Florida Forward Initiative and the @MyFDOT team the loop around Tallahassee is finally getting finished.
The final link in the long-planned expansion of Capital Circle is officially underway! Phase One of the project is completing a year ahead of schedule and we are now able to begin the last segment, Phase Two. Phase Two’s improvements will build upon the current widening of Capital Circle, extending it another two miles to Crawfordville Highway and completing the six-lane loop that will take visitors and locals from the airport to anywhere in the capital city.
Welcome home Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy! 🫶
The Artemis II astronauts have splashed down at 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11), bringing their historic 10-day mission around the Moon to an end.
Florida’s freight activities produce $83 BILLION in economic value, representing tons of goods delivered and services provided that keep our economy moving and strengthen our supply chain.
