D.C. Man Sentenced for Setting Fire to Apartment Building Where His Own Family Lived
Ronnie Bookhardt, age 64, has been sentenced to nearly 5 years in prison after prosecutors say he set fire to an apartment building where his own family members lived.
Authorities say surveillance video captured Bookhardt pouring lighter fluid and igniting a fire inside a Southeast D.C. apartment building in October 2022.
The blaze triggered sprinklers, causing more than $200,000 in damage.
Today, a judge sentenced him to 57 months behind bars, followed by three years of supervised release.
