There is no justification for burdening Americas workforce to supplement students and their universities.

This application is, by NEC definition, a continuous load.

Therefore, you cannot use more than 80% of the breaker/wire/circuit capacity.

Assuming the dryer receptacle is wired correctly:
30 * 0.8 =24

To avoid burning down your home, you must assure that no more than 24 amps are used.

The Tesla portable charger can swap adapters.

If you have/buy/use a 30amp receptacle adapter, the charger recognizes this and will limit the current appropriately.

I don’t believe that “extending” the circuit would be allowed…because then, potentially, two devices might be used simultaneously and exceed the 80% rule.

Moving the receptacle would be the only safe option.

Extending the wire is another detail that must be done correctly or this will burn down your home.

Many details.

Honestly, if you have to ask this question, you are probably not the right person to do this work…so just use an adapter from the existing receptacle.

But yeah, it’s doable.
