Ahight so the background checks finally cleared. It was touch and go for a minute. My Foundational Blackness was called into question regarding a meal I had at Bob Evans Restaurant back in 2003. I told them that I apologized for my actions that it was a really dark time for me…
This is for those of you who were looking for me to weigh in on what them rich and famous comedians were saying that had nothing to do with me. 😆
However, I think the below example is a good visual representation of my take on the matter.
Sometimes it really do just be a matter
In 1945, Lena Baker, was put on trial for killing her white employer, for raping her. Though she claimed self defense, she was sentenced to death by an all white male jury.
The local newspaper reported her death with the headline “Baker Burns.”
She was pardoned 60 years after her death.
Her last statements were,”What I done, I did in self-defense, or I would have been killed myself. Where I was I could not overcome it. God has forgiven me. I have nothing against anyone. I picked cotton for Mr. Pritchett, and he has been good to me. I am ready to go. I am one in the number. I am ready to meet my God. I have a very strong conscience.”
Hey @SarahHuckabee
Black history is not propaganda.
Black history is not teaching our kids to hate America.
Black history is not perpetuating a lie.
Slavery happened.
Lynching happened.
Rape, murder, brutalization, and dehumanization of Black people happened and continues to happen.
Racialized mass incarceration, racial profiling, and extrajudicial murder of Black people happened and continues to happen.
Black history is American history.
Black history is not indoctrination.
Banning Black history is racist.
You are racist. You are not Christian. You are pathetic.
A thank you thread:
