@Michael05807267@kevinkfyam A lot of Hong Kongers just don’t get this point. If it weren’t for the international angle, what is HK’s selling point again?
@ruima@perolahammar That’s all fair enough, but as a result WeChat messaging is outright primitive in terms of functionality compared to something like WhatsApp. Same goes for iMessage by the way, so it’s not just specifically about design.
@shenzhenfoundry@dhh Mainlanders in Mainland tend to like it, because they’ve not used Google Maps. Foreigners in China eventually get used to it, because they have to. The navigation/driving part is alright, although they should just be embarrassed about the voice output quality.
@shenzhenfoundry@dhh What are you talking about. Amap/Gaode is a terrible piece of software compared to Google or Apple Maps. Usability just stinks. But there is nothing better to use in Mainalnd, so….
@SariArhoHavren I remember that being a pretty standard view of history in part of Europe where I went to school… not saying there’s nothing to critique, but it’s far from unusual.
@gideonrachman So you just jump to: otherwise we’d all be speaking German? Pretty weak sauce, IMHO. Maybe you have some better justification, but this clip doesn’t show it.
