Not sure how you can say they were the better “ team”. They have more skilled players, but being down by 8 at half, needing the refs to bail you out in the second half and being one possession away from losing after having a 17-0 run in the 2nd half. Better? lol
@CycloneLarry69 Iowa is good. They'll upset a couple of big time opponents in Big 10 play, but Iowa State was the better team. Iowa is in a really good spot under McCollum
@FMIPE71 They were bad before the B1G and still played in the conference championship their first season. Keep making Nebraska relevant. It’s fun to read!

lol you’ll never know because they were still beating up the big 8’s worst! Plus academic and behavioral standards may have been a little light back in those “ glory days”. Big ten standards may have “reduced “ some of those “talented “players 5” they had. Again just coincidence?
@FMIPE71@IAPuntReturner It didn’t matter what conference the 94, 95, and 97 Huskers teams were in. They were the best teams on grass. Nebraska is still very much relevant, whether you want to lie about it or not. They haven’t had success compared to standards in a long while. Not relevant = < 900 wins.
@L_Hinschberger@IAPuntReturner Nebraska was “ good” when you only had to win one game a year to be considered for a National Champion. They played in by far the weakest conference in America for many years.
Once they actually played in a decent conference, they’ve become irrelevant! Coincidence?! I think not!
That is such terrible take. How “ bad” is the job at Iowa. Graduate kids, great fan base, quality facilities, rarely have issues with law or are in the paper for negative things, and they consistently win. He would be lucky to get that type of job.
He was great, but he also played in the worst Division in the NFL at the time. Packers, Vikqueens , Lions and Buccaneers were all terrible in the late 70’s to late 80’s.
Well when I lived in Kanawha in the early 90’s I had several people ( many that were my elders lol) tell me the story. Do I always respect my elders and believed them!
Michael Irvin! Hands down. Was still a weapon the year his career ended. Had 750 and 11,000. Would have been a 1000 catch 15,000 Yard guy! Always showed up in big games!
