How is FND diagnosed? 🩺

It’s important to diagnose using positive signs for FND, eg:

Hoover’s sign for functional weakness
Entrainment Test for Tremors
Functional Seizures with a long duration, eyes closed or side-to-side head movements.

Many different factors likely make patients more susceptible to functional symptoms, and at the time of illness onset, these factors may likely trigger or exacerbate FND symptoms which then cultivate ongoing symptoms.
