How's this for an idea. Instead of dropping 10k NFTs at once, drop 800/month for a year. First batch is free, then increase the price by 0.01 eth per month. Build your product as you go and there's still plenty of supply left for newcomers to join at reasonable prices.

I find the argumentation of @Zeneca_33 plausible why roadmaps of NFT projects often cause false expectations which can't be met or are just copycats of others. Are there any good examples of projects which still have an inspiring vision and catching ideas without predefining it?
