Spring is (sort of) in the air in Albion, and that means it is almost time for our annual Senior Trip to Washington D.C.! Any of our alumni remember their senior D.C. trips?!
As a new tradition for Fordies, we have started taking students to the @Ford_Library where they are able to learn more about our namesake, as well as sit in President Ford's actual office and desk, and sign their name as part of our organization!
We recently had a chance to attend a seminar on democracy, hosted by the Gerald R. Ford Foundation, as well as take a look around the museum too. It was so much fun to spend time with students, and engage in some out of the classroom experiences! @PresGeraldRFord thank you!
Come and join us on campus today and participate in a lecture by George Franklin, an experienced author and businessman. Mr. Franklin will be sharing what it was like to serve as the VP of Government Relations for Kellogg, as well as his process for writing his latest novel!
Our students gather every year, and take cards back to their dorms too, to make Valentine’s Day special for our area senior citizens. Making a difference for others can take so many forms. What’s your favorite way to give back?
Fordies are gathering today to catch up, chat, and enjoy some coffee. It is nice to be able to meet outside of class and have a great time together too!
Yesterday, students had the chance to meet with some amazing former and current members of our state legislature. Thank you so much to Kate Segal, Margaret O'Brien, and @JimHaadsma for come by and sharing with our students your experiences in serving others!
We were so excited to attend the Lecture by Garret Graff at the @Ford_Library last night in Ann Arbor. Our students said it was one of the best lectures they had ever been part of, and we were so excited to be there! Thanks so much to all those who worked to make this possible!
We invite you to attend this special event next Monday at The Bohm Theater in Albion. Join us in reflecting on Dr. King's teachings, while we come together as a community to honor his work.
Ford Institute students learn through hands on experiences. Overcoming challenges, navigating complex systems, and creating relationships in order to learn how to not only be part of a team, but to lead one.
Despite the ice and snow, the campus feels so alive! It is always a great time to see the students coming back, and the Albion Campus instantly feels alive with their arrival. What are some of your favorite college winter memories?
Join us on Jan 22 at 7 pm at Bohm Theater in Albion, MI as we welcome Linda Johnson Rice, Chairman/CEO of Johnson Publishing. She'll be sharing her presentation "Shifting the cultural climate through the study and practice of Kingian Nonviolence." #MLKDay2024
Congrats to aspiring attorneys Kevie Lamour, '25 (left) and Kara Anderson, '25! They were awarded scholarships for LSAT test prep courses offered by Kaplan and Blueprint.
Happy New Year! May this new year bring you joy, happiness, and success in all your endeavors. At the Foundation, we have many exciting events planned for 2024 as we head into the 50th anniversary of Gerald R. Ford becoming President!
Season's greetings from Albion College.
Throughout the decades, Albion's beautiful campus has been a source of inspiration, growth, inquiry, learning, lifelong friendships, and so much more.
From the buzzing of the quad to the meet-cutes at the KC and contemplative walks through the nature center, we're so grateful for this place and all those who have called it home. 💜💛
