I think FH in GW9 is the optimal play.

Gameweek 9 has some of the biggest teams playing against each other. That makes it a perfect week to use your Free hit.

Chelsea vs Manchester United
Liverpool vs Arsenal

That's four of the most owned #FPL teams facing each other in the same gameweek.

A normal squad will probably have 6 to 8 players from Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Using the Free Hit in GW9 is the optimal strategy as it lets you avoid difficult fixtures.

Instead of relying on players from Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United you can fill your team with players who have much better matchups.

You can replace them with players from

Manchester City
Bournemouth
Sunderland
Aston Villa
Ipswich Town
Tottenham

This gives your team a much higher ceiling for points.

But FPL isn't just about upside. It's about consistency.
