Or, another way to put this: the government has been hiding the true number of unlawful mutual obligation cancellations for years https://t.co/rAbCUUIx9R

I will never forget when my job provider had my payments cancelled in 2020 days out from lockdown and left me in a state of panic. I spent four weeks beforehand trying to re-engage with no response or call back. Nice to know it was because of a “glitch” according to the govt lol
In Senate #Estimates yesterday DEWR confirmed illegal payment cancellations under the problematic Targeted Compliance Framework were "in the vicinity" of EJA's analysis from last year (~310K). @Cait_Kelly for @GuardianAus: https://t.co/hAjMDwUzel
AstraZeneca's decision to withdraw this drug from the PBS will affect 1000's of women in Australia living with endo & breast cancer.
They say it's a "commercial decision" but are leaving the higher dose used for prostate cancer as is.
I asked questions at Estimates yesterday on behalf of Canberrans who had contacted me, worried about what their treatment looks like in the future.
I urge AZ to front up and explain what's happening - women with breast cancer deserve transparency here.

On this fine day, I call on the Australian government to #RaiseTheRate of all support payments to a living wage.
This would be the single most effective way to lift the productivity, quality of life, and well-being of the whole country.
#CommitToALivingWage
He means his standard of living and his way of life. Neo liberalism has made the rich richer and the poor poorer. It divides, it conquers and it exploits.
When you pay off a credit card or mortgage, the bank can’t charge you interest on repayments you’ve already made. That would be illegal. But when the government does it, it’s fine and normal.
Sign my petition today to fix HECS. We've done it before, let's do it again.

@ej_australia More on the unlawful 42AM cancellation issue here. And a reminder that 42AM is just ONE section of the social security act that's been unlawfully administered https://t.co/23Rob00zu9
"@ej_australia estimated that under 42AM there could be up to 310k people affected [by unlawful payment cancellations]. What's your estimate?"
Department: "It is in the vicinity of that"
Well, nice of them to finally-sorta-vaguely acknowledge some of the scale of this scandal
Thanks for saying it out loud @GrogsGamut

the Lib/Lab consensus that keeps mutual obligations alive continues to be based on pure bullshit that:
1) the poorest people in society need to be punished out of poverty
2) there will be "social unrest" (??) if we don't allow poor people to be exploited by job providers
"Will the new model still allow providers to claim outcome payments for employment that the job seeker found independently?"
"We would see job outcome payments continuing to be a feature"
fraud, rorting, and exploitation of the poor WILL and MUST continue!
@ArtistAffame I get emails from job providers asking for employees payslips often.
These are people meeting mutual obligations, however they were not employed through the job provider.
Is that the same thing?
2 nights ago I turned the heating on for a couple of hours because it was so bitterly cold.
This morning I received an email from AGL telling me I was being excessive with my usage.
Just now in Senate estimates, the Department is asked about job providers harassing participants for their payslips
The Department: "There haven't been any of those cases in recent times"
A lie. I've been helping multiple people who say they're being bullied for their payslips
LNP asks the Department to guarantee that they will continue to support private sector providers
Department: "There would continue to be for-profit providers"
"Many of them provide an excellent quality service, many of them are very innovative and have an incentive to innovate"
Your job provider cannot demand your payslips. It's a breach of the deed if they harass you for them by booking appts, or threaten/suspend your payment if you don't hand them over.
