Guys romanticize high revenue without profit. You’ll see a big number, take home 2%, and feel like shit. It hurts knowing you’re not making money and putting it into your bank account. After paying your team, apps, courses, etc. you end the month in red.
If you need to stay smaller to fix the fundamentals, do it. You’ll win more. Better ads. Better offer. Better backend. Better product. Don’t let the guys ahead of you make you lose sight. They built the fundamentals. So don’t skip them in your journey. Build that skill.
I’ve hit $300k months. But it was revenue. Profit was shit. I felt like shit. So I learn. Every day. Now, I relentlessly try to simplify the business & move the needle. I simply became tired of losing. Let’s fcking win boys
Went on a trip with the wife to Croatia and Just landed back in Toronto 3 hours ago.
Sales crushing today 📈
Grateful for everything and hungrier than ever 🙏🏼
Moral of the story: put in the work, enjoy life, think abundance and everything will work out.
Keep things simple, don’t over complicate it.
Study your customers, your winners, your losers. Better Ads, better LPs, better team execution.
Seeing steady 1K+ Avg profit days again.
Ecom has been the craziest journey.
From losing big profits one month and then instantly seeing scale the next.
July 2026 (Loss 📉) to August 2026 (📈)
Key things that turned the tide:
- Studied our winners in depth, iterated + tested new concepts with better execution. Cut the fluff, added the right authorities as needed, focused on winning angles and different entry points + more customer verbatim in our scripts.
- Ad based CRO -> Aligned LPs to the main angles and winners (Advert, Listicle, PDP). This was huge, CVR went up, existing winners relaunched to new LPs started crushing even harder.
- Dailed in on the editors and revisions for each creative. Lowered volume, went higher intent and made sure execution was on point. No cutting corners. Equipped the team with a KYC document to help them make better creatives
- Re-structured Ad account. This definitely improved performance and lowered CPA Tip: Add min spends on each adset, launch similar angles together, switch to CPR (cost per result)
Credit goes to Evolve @spencepawliw@shauneng for all their sauce and knowledge.
Put in the reps, do the boring work.
People rarely buy because they understand every feature.
They buy when the decision feels clear, safe and worth making now!
Thats what moves the customer from interest to action.
Good marketing explains.
Great marketing reduces uncertainty.
The fastest way to write better ads?
Stop asking: “How do I sell this?”
Start asking: “What has to become true in the customer’s mind before they buy?”
That single question changes everything.
One learning that’s changed how we look at creatives
Every ad has ONE primary job. Not ten ❌
• Create curiosity
• Build trust
• Install a new belief
• Remove one objection
• Increase urgency
• Demonstrate proof
The more jobs you give one ad
The worse it usually performs
Your next winning ad probably isn’t sitting in ChatGPT or Claude.
It’s buried inside:
• Customer reviews
• Support tickets
• Reddit
• Competitor comments
• Product returns
The best copywriters don’t invent.
They uncover.
