@Claire That's a $3,499 computer that contains at least $4,000 worth of components that will be bottlenecked by a 24GB GPU that Ghost won't be able to secure a stable supply of from day 1. Interesting business model.

@TheEconomist The Chinese Communist Party, once famous for pillaging from the natural world, has set to protecting cute puppies and calling them the "bestest boys". But the country's "cute-as-fuck-puppy-authoritarian" approach deserves scrutiny.
@AtronachSign@esjesjesj Here's a Late Helladic depiction of a Mycenean ship. I don't think the choice of ship really departs too far from the reality. Remembering the text contains it's own anachronisms, I'm expecting much larger annoyances than this pretty sympathetic casting of a longship.
@123_vermin@AtronachSign@esjesjesj Yeah it's here in Lionel Casson, Ships and Seamanship in the Ancient World. No evidence, certainly of widespread use of rams on bronze age ships. Homer certainly makes no mention, despite being an autist about describing ships of the Mycenaean fleet.
@123_vermin@AtronachSign@esjesjesj The bronze age ships did not have rams as far as I know, that was a later development for when ship to ship battle became more common.

You can be right about Elno being a moron and a charlatan and still lose money.
@theBocker70@RyanakaFlats Pay careful attention: BYD is locked out of the US market by government regulation. If BYD held 10% of US market share, it would be outselling Tesla globally by 30% whilst growing in most major markets whilst Tesla sales decline.
@LisaKeshet@christiaanhtznr@camkasky@academic_la And the 112 dead from this massacre as they waited for flour? Who paid for these crimes? What was the outcome of the investigation? https://t.co/1HKYi3tSkR
@EHuanglu Real question, after today will you ever come back and look at this again? Does it speak to you in any way? I look at this work by Goya maybe once a month, have done since I first saw it, and it always occupies a tiny piece of real estate in my mind.

Amazing tidbit from @Flippa june insight report - a Serbian DJ has bought over 250 businesses since 2019. First purchase $600, most recent purchase $102,000. Would be great to hear his full story, but it is testament to the fact that you can build up quick with smart decisions.
