Developments in the last 24 hours confirmed that COAS Gen Asim Munir will now lead Pakistan's battle for economic survival from the front. In meetings with around 100 businessmen in the business capitals Karachi and Lahore, Gen Asim Munir, maintaining a tough and decisive tone, resolved to implement an ambitious plan to reform the economy. He pledged the eradication of smuggling, particularly rampant oil smuggling from Iran; an end to the non-filers culture in the country's taxation system; inclusion of non-tax-paying sectors such as retail in revenue systems; encouragement of rapid privatization of sick state units in the next six months; introduction of a rapid reform process in state-owned companies; and to confront dollarization with state might. The Army Chief sounds absolutely determined to root out "system-led" official corruption in Sindh. Gen Asim expected that a free judiciary will support the economic revival mission.

I do not lobby for anyone or any country nor do I receive money from anyone for my tweets. I share my sincere personal views and concerns about Pakistan's triple crisis, which unfortunately isn't improving but intensifying.

These crises threaten to further impoverish and polarize the people of Pakistan. They also risk fragmenting the country, which would threaten regional and global security.

It is urgent that Pakistani leaders put their country first; agree on a roadmap based on obeying the country's Supreme Court decisions and democratic elections.

On Mr. Badmash, Pakistan has 100s of talented, patriotic, and law-abiding leaders who could serve as Minister of Interior. Why has Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharief given this key position to a man who has the blood of innocent Pakistanis on his hand, some 20 of them, among other crimes?

آئی ایس آئی اور ایم آئی کی جانب سے ان کے پروپیگنڈے کے لیے پوسٹرز کے ساتھ ساتھ چند مٹھی بھر لوگوں کی اجرائی والی ریلیوں کا بھی اہتمام کیا گیا ہے۔ فوجیوں کے راشن میں کٹوتی کر دی گئی ہے جبکہ ان افسران کے اشتہارات پر اربوں روپے خرچ ہو رہے ہیں۔

پی ڈی ایم کی تمام سیاسی جماعتوں سے بھی کہا گیا ہے کہ وہ پروپیگنڈے کے طور پر انہی افسران کے ویڈیو کلپس بنائیں۔ PDM اب ان سائیکوپیتھس کے لیے پروپیگنڈے کو بھی فروغ دے گا، یہاں تک کہ اپنے لیڈروں کو چھوڑنے کی قیمت پر۔

عاصم منیر آنے والے الیکشن میں کیوں نہیں لڑتے؟ تب ہی اسے اپنی اصلی مقبولیت کا پتہ چلے گا!

I am forced to inform all of you, and friends in media, that I am receiving life threats through different means; I am being made to realize that my whereabouts are known to powerful people back in Pakistan & I should not think that I am safe in Washington. This was continuing since March, but now it has assumed a more serious shape & intensity. Few days before Imran Khan's arrest, a meeting took place somewhere in between Pindi & Islamabad and formations were asked to track me, my exact location. I had previously informed Washington police but decided not to give any names. I am now giving names, with titles in writing, to US Police and FBI and will reach out to HR Organizations & International media. Such terror actions are always sanctioned from the very top. I still believe that sanity will prevail, and other responsible people around them will counsel them. And that is why I am not giving any more facts & names here. But unfortunately Pakistan is being run by an irresponsible criminal mafia and they are desperate to silence all dissent & freedom of expression from any one of Pakistani origin anywhere in the world. Tried tweeting this Dawn News story (Drama at Islamabad High Court, on Tyrian White Case) but it won’t let me tweet? Any way read the story line by line & one is puzzled by the actions of Hon. Chief Justice, Amir Farooq Sb, who first sent a draft judgment to other two judges and when the other two judges wrote a majority judgment pointing out that there is no case against Imran Khan, then the Chief Justice dismissed the bench and has ordered rehearing? What is Chief Justice up to? What kind of pressure he is facing? From whom? Earlier “Majority Judgement” also disappointed from Islamabad High Court’s website. Many also point out that it was Justice Amir Farooq who kept on demanding physical presence of Imran Khan in Islamabad court from where it was easy to kidnap him the way it was done by Pakistan’s paramilitary units a day earlier. Needless to say, events of last 48 hours, have raised very uncomfortable questions about the conduct of Chief Justice Sb!
