WARNING: Delicious content!
Last week the QIMR Berghofer Student Society held its annual bake sale to raise money for the student retreat and Christmas party.
It was a sweet success, fueled by the generosity of the Institute's best bakers!
We were excited to welcome Qld Health Minister @ShannonFentiman as she announced a new 10-year Research Strategy.
Ms Fentiman met with researchers in Dr Siok Tey’s lab, who are helping to deliver cancer-fighting #cell#therapies to patients who have run out of treatment options.
Madeleine Flynn is our VERY talented biomedical illustrator and Dr Siok Tey is our extraordinarily talented and hardworking clinician researcher!
Fantastic cover!
Dr Seviiri is working to better understand the #genetics 🧬 of #skin#cancer, while Dr Straube will study how gene mutations contribute to poor treatment outcomes in #blood#cancer patients.
We look forward to sharing their findings with you in the future.
We were delighted to welcome @CCQld to the Institute today to interview Doctors @MathiasSeviiri and @JStraubeBioinfo!
This pair were recently awarded five-year Next Generation Cancer Research Fellowships.
Farewell + thank you to Prof @drKhannaKK + some of her lab team who are moving to @MaterResearch!
Professor Khanna started as a Research Officer at QIMR Berghofer in 1991 and has made a significant contribution to the Institute ...
Brain cancer is difficult to treat + kills about 1,500 people a year in Australia.
So, QIMR Berghofer and @BrisAirtrain have formed a special partnership to help fight the disease.
Help improve diagnosis + treatment by donating via the Airtrain website or at the ticket kiosk.
Just over 2 months ago, Chris Beath and his family and friends, including mate Sean Richardson, stunned us all by raising more than $50K for #cancer#research.
Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Chris, his Dad Stuart, sister Nikkita + wife Sara at the Institute.
