@JoBullen1 @FunkyPedagogy I had a student that used Judith Butler and gender performativity to talk about Lady M’s “unisex me here” in their mock. Badly,
I might add. Obviously, had been watching lots of YouTube videos.
@FunkyPedagogy @rgold_edu I’ve just had an 😱 moment. Last year one of my y11 boys wrote an interesting story for his mock about a priest with this plot, he used it for his GCSE. I thought at the time it was unusual and wondered where the idea had come from. That’s answered my question! Ps. He got a 9.
Question for AQA English examiners or those that know. LP2 Q2. If the focus of the answer is incorrect do they get awarded any marks. Eg. Focus is “differences in workplace” but answer is on “experience and feelings”. @Team_English1
@XboxGamePass perhaps you could tell me how to cancel. Account’s been hacked can’t recover account. Scammers currently using our gamepass we have no access but are paying for it. Please advise
@XboxSupport Our MS account has been hacked. I’ve spent hours on online chat and completed account recovery multiple times to prove it’s my account. We can’t use our GamePass as the scammers using it. Can’t contact you or resolve how we cancel subscription. Worst CS I’ve had.
@GCSE_Macbeth I’ve had some really bizarre key word glossaries that have been AI generated. I’ve uploaded an extract and asked it to generate a glossary. When I’ve checked a percentage of the words don’t even appear in the extract 🤷♀️ thankfully I checked before hand. But what a waste of time!
@swilkin2004@teach_smith@Team_English1 @FunkyPedagogy Try a Whoosh activity where they have to play the roles. My old Y9 l/a loved it. They then story board the play to help consolidate. Animated Tales or the BBC Teach do an animated one in shorts.
@MargaretGwyer@adamboxer1 Zip wallets (large ones) from Amazon and pack in 4s or whatever the table seats. Pack per table. Game changer. Students responsible for checking items back in, so 4 of everything! Lifesaver and timesaver.
@mrs_kainth_ What/How/Why? Have a look at @__codexterous and @SPryke2 both use it as a conceptual framework for thinking about a text but it’s not a prescriptive format such as PEETZA/PETAL.
@teach_smith@Team_English1 I ask my students ‘is it literally true’?
No. So what qualities am I stealing from the stone to describe my heart. My classes are good at asking themselves - is it literally true? Is the playground a circus? Is there a clown and acrobats there? Nope. Then it’s a metaphor.
I’m Lit mock marking today. 31 Y10 papers. ACC and MacBeth. Top ticks and tricks for effective feedback? Second time mock marking and I want feedback to be purposeful in my feedback lesson. Ideas #teamenglish
Kudos to those teaching P3/P5 in the choking humidity with cries of “it’s too hot to learn” coupled with Y10 nonchalantly wandering school after their mock & finishing on a great, belly rumble of thunder and torrential rain. “Miss look it’s raining!” 40m of my lesson gone! 🙄😓
