Let me be very honest with us Africans. The ICC or international community will never help us. They will fake they are helping you.
It's because they benefit from our suffering.
The only people who will help Africa, are Africans themselves.
Only Africans will change Africa.
It took me a moment even to put my thoughts, prayers, & sorrow together 💔🙏🏽I mourn with everyone in Tanzania and with the many lives lost within just a few days of the so-called elections 🇹🇿
First and foremost, my heartfelt condolences to all who lost loved ones.
For a long while we have tried diplomacy - asking the Tanzanian Government to exercise democracy, respect human rights, and listen to its people who have been asking for justice, an end to enforced disappearances, freedom of speech and expression, and reforms before elections - all for the common good, not to favor a privileged few. Instead, our calls were ignored while more people were silenced, abducted, or worse. The government kept pushing on with elections.
In a democratic world, I joined others to exercise our First Amendment right and peacefully protest on October 17th inn Washington D.C🇺🇸. Police officers were there to protect us, but even then the Tanzania U.S. Embassy tried to discourage our message by hiring counter-demonstrators and sending disguised staff. We reported this and still delivered our clear message.
Though I never called for demonstrations in Tanzania, I was proud to see people express their constitutional rights to protest.
But instead of dialogue, the government imposed internet shutdowns, lockdowns, and responded with deadly force. Unarmed citizens who wanted justice were met with violence. These are tragic and heartbreaking events that no one can ignore. Then, the internet briefly returned only to announce a “98% victory” for the pre-elected president - even as many citizens rejected the process. Soon after, the internet was cut again to hide more killings and the president was sworn in at a military base -the first time in Tanzanian history such secrecy surrounded an inauguration without the public attendance. Why hide if the leader is truly beloved with 98% support? Tanzania today is a land crying out for justice. How can someone call themselves a mother and kill? Thousands gunned down💔Children uwii 😥 I’ve lost all respect for anyone who supports such regime and actions.
I will continue to stand firm for justice and help where I can. We are contacting international bodies and humanitarian relief efforts @tlgefoundation
To those who blame people seeking justice - take that energy to those who harm and rob Tanzanians of their rights. No one should kill to stay in power. No cause can ever justify killing unarmed people who are simply seeking justice -killers were the ones holding the guns, protestors didn’t have guns. Some were hunted in their own homes. It’s a deep betrayal of humanity.
Lives lost won’t be in vain.

Kama tukitaka kuwakomesha hao wasanii the best way is to mass report them on every social media platform. That’s the most effective way of canceling them. They will lose their accounts maana hio ndio their biggest source of income and that’s how the Kenyan celebs also gave in.

We are alarmed by reports that amidst internet and electricity blackouts, security forces have used excessive force to suppress and disperse ongoing post-election protests, resulting in the deaths and injuries of protesters.
This is the third time in less than a year that Tanzanian authorities have resorted to an internet blockade to silence dissenting voices.

Tanzania makes Kenya look like a perfect country. This is crazy, all billboards have @SuluhuSamia’s face. Why is she even campaigning when the opposition is in jail? Hakuna hata watu wa Muthokinju paints kwa billboard.
