Justin Trudeau: “Democracy is not a given, freedom is not a given, and even Canada is not a given. None of these happened by accident; none of them will continue without effort. It takes courage, it takes sacrifice, and it takes hope and hard work.”

Today, I joined members of our community at the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation walk at Tsawwassen First Nation.
What was meant to be a day of solidarity, remembrance, reflection and healing was halted by a devastating tragedy.
To the families and loved ones affected by this terrible tragedy: my heart is with you. I am so deeply sorry for the loss and pain you are experiencing. No one should ever have to endure a moment like this.
I was with members of the community after the incident. In moments like this, I am reminded of how deeply connected we are as a community.
Delta stands with Tsawwassen First Nation in this moment of unimaginable loss, and we will be there to offer our support in every way we can.
To all the first responders who answered the call and cared for those in need - thank you for your courage, compassion and service.
To the families whose lives have been forever changed, please know that you are in our hearts in the days and weeks to come.
Before leaving for Prince Rupert, David Eby says the actions of white supremacists at the Tk’emlups First Nation “are disgusting and disgraceful.” #bcpoli
Finnish President Alexander Stubb has shared a video of himself running with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in New York, continuing what he calls their “running diplomacy.”
B.C. Health Minister Ravi Kahlon has announced that he will not seek re-election in the upcoming provincial election, becoming the third minister in Premier David Eby’s cabinet to announce their departure from the race.
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided I will not be seeking re-election.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have represented the community I love.
I will be on the doorsteps supporting Premier Eby and my colleagues in the coming weeks.
Please see my statement 👇
Premier David Eby has called a provincial election for Oct. 24, framing the vote around the ongoing trade tensions with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Eby said Tuesday that Trump is “attacking our jobs,” driving up costs and threatening Canada’s ability to make its own decisions.
Kerry-Lynne Findlay has resigned as leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, effective immediately.
Findlay announced her resignation in a statement on social media Sunday, saying the party needs a “reset” after a difficult period.
@JMcknightDelta@DFF1763 Thank you, Jill, for bringing everyone together and for the warm hospitality. It was a pleasure meeting you and your colleagues and being part of the gathering.
British Columbians will always stand with Canada.
Our politeness should never be mistaken for weakness.
We’ll always defend ourselves.
We didn’t ask for this, but we’ll keep fighting for as long as it takes.

British Columbians have lost hope for the future. People are leaving this province in droves. We’ve seen practically zero private sector job growth. You can’t survive here anymore, and we’re on a path to bankruptcy.
That’s why I got involved with the Conservatives. British Columbians demanded change and we came so close last time. I made mistakes, but I own them. Now it’s time to finish the job.
What’s next? Full unity behind Kerry-Lynne Findlay. We will form a Conservative government for the first time since 1927 and deliver responsible, small government that brings real hope and optimism back to British Columbia.
I’m all in. Let’s get it over the line.
Trump has a meltdown and ends the interview
Welker: Just to be very clear, there's no evidence of what you're saying.
Trump: There’s a lot of evidence. There’s tremendous evidence. There’s nothing but evidence. The election was rigged. And it’s happening again in California. They’re cheating.
Welker: Do you have evidence?
Trump: All I have to do is look.
Welker: That’s not evidence. The local officials acknowledge they are slow
Trump: They’re crooked. Just like you’re crooked. You’re either crooked or stupid.
