I know that many people are dying in Tigray from famine and lack of medication. I also know our calls to the IC have fallen on deaf ears. But I also know I can't be quiet in the face of this. Therefore I write, speak, post and tweet.
My brother, who is university lecturer, and has enough money in his bank account sent me a via-via message that he is hungry in mekelle. I can't help him because there is no way to send money nor to contact him. This is a story of Tigrayans. Everyone has a duty to stop this.
Once in a while, I watch Amhara TVs. They are talking about Wollo famine now. But what is so interesting is that they vehemently condemn famine in Wollo as immoral and evil, and in the same breath they say the blockade and famine in Tigray is legitimate & appropriate.
150+ Tigrayans are dying every day due to the famine. There was a little expression of concern about it. To deflate that, Abiy allowed a trickle of aid & it worked! Isn't it amazing? Also amazing is that the # of people in famine is a constant of 400,000 for 2+ months.
For Abiy's & his base Weyane, TPLF & junta mean Tigrayans. No Tigrayan that doe's not qualify as such. Even the top leadership of the defunct interim admin are accused of being junta. When Abiy says the junta is cancer, weed or satan, his supporters know he means Tigrayans.
"The claims of #Amhara soldiers to "cleanse or purify" #Tigrayans' blood by raping women makes this violence genocidal. The UK gov't can help avert more destruction in Tigray and provide justice for the survivors of the massacres." -- Labour MP Helen Hayes
Better to kill the women of #Tigray because tomorrow they will give birth to woyane' - said by Amhara militia. Sexual violence is the marker of the genocidal campaign against the Tigrayan population. @UNWomenUK#TigrayGenocide#TigrayCantWait https://t.co/vE2ESWbGTN
