Penn State and Missouri can't be viewed in a vacuum; this is a body-of-work argument. However, Rhoades mentioned the third-team QB situation at Missouri but didn't acknowledge that Penn State is in a far worse spot: 3-6, on its backup QB and has an interim head coach.

@slmandel Doesn’t SOR and SOS already account for quality of opponent? If so, A&M ranks 1 better than IU in SOR and 18 spots better in SOS, both of which factor in their conference foes’ combined record. Why tout the importance of these 2 metrics if you “eye test” your way out of them?

And Penn State is a six-loss team. And they were starting a freshman back up quarterback. And Marcel Reed and A&M won by 21 points and didn’t take a miracle catch to win (and did it against a ranked team on the road).

The disrespect from the committee should not surprise anybody. We’ve seen it before in football. We’ve seen it in basketball. We’ve seen it in baseball. A&M has to earn anything they get from selection committees, and it has been like that for years.
