Audience (size) expectations from advertisers when sharing buyer persona’s:
The advertiser: "My buyer persona is James, a client at energy company Z, works for company Y, is in a relationship, lives in the city, watches 80% business news, has no television, doesn't do sports, likes to read 10 books a week, spend 10 min on social media a day and earns 10M a year."
Our audience team: "Looks like they know the person, can’t they just call him? We only found 3 others who behave similarly.”
The advertiser: "This should be an audience of 50M in the US. Can you broaden it?"
Our audience team: "Wait what???"
Opinion: Many buyer personas, for which companies pay tens of thousands of dollars, are often ineffective for targeting. They do not provide concrete input to effectively target the audience.
Update for our Pro Targeting clients: The recent custom audience issues are resolved. Your campaigns can now launch with smoothly processed, tailored audiences.🎉
Thanks to the support of all X teams involved. 👏

Here's my take on Musk's step against bots and scrapers and how it enhances user experiences and ad efficiency👇
Twitter has implemented a temporary but aggressive measure against bots and scrapers. This action was taken due to the growing threat posed by data scraping for AI training purposes, which has been exploiting significant portions of the internet at the expense of platforms and their users.
The traditional web is highly vulnerable, and the potential of AI in this regard is only just beginning to be realized. Therefore, employing aggressive measures becomes imperative to safeguard the platforms.
Additionally, it is reasonable to expect AI companies to bear the responsibility of compensating platforms like Twitter for the data and value they extract. By requiring AI companies to pay for the information they collect from these platforms, a fairer distribution of costs and benefits can be achieved.
Importantly, the primary focus of these measures is to prioritize the user. While it may appear that view limits have impacted users, it is crucial to note that only a small subset of users encounter these limits, typically in exceptional cases. For the average user, there has been little to no change. In fact, one could argue that the user experience has improved due to the reduction in the presence of bots and scrapers.
It may not be obvious, but this situation benefits advertisers positively. There is an even greater assurance that ads are reaching real humans since these view limits primarily impact automated entities rather than human users. Also, the potential reach of their ads remains largely unaffected.
I must admit, it's truly amazing to receive a like from Elon Musk as a devoted Twitter partner who aspires to make Twitter ads as relevant as they can be
Tweet impressions reveal some of the hidden power of Twitter. There are far more users online to see what is happening than the level of engagement suggests.
@damien_reid would be nice if we can hear the cars and team radio. We can only hear the commentating (which is great), but hearing a bit of the cars and whats happening on the ground would be appreciated. Might want to adjust audio settings a bit. The track is almost muted.
