Most people think life gets easier after the hard times.
Mike Bianco disagrees.
"The hard times don't stop. You just learn to handle hard better."

Hayden Federico said he always wanted to go to the CWS. But his father Mike, a longtime college baseball coach, said one of them had “to earn it.” Mike hasn’t gotten a trip to Omaha in his coaching career. But Hayden just punched a ticket for both.
A lot of players are getting ejected in regional play for dumb ass celebrations.
Parents and Coaches allowing players to act like morons.
Why isn't playing good and winning not enough?
One day, without realizing it, you played your last game of baseball.
Last bus ride.
Last bullpen.
Last time putting on the uniform.
Last time hearing cleats on pavement walking into the stadium.
That’s why the people who truly love this game never really leave it.
We coach it.
We work in it.
We watch it.
We reminisce about it.
We miss it.
Because baseball gave us pieces of ourselves we’ll spend the rest of our lives trying to hold onto.

Scouts don’t just watch your swing.
They watch how you react when the ump blows a call, when your pitcher hangs one, when your teammate boots a ball.
Your response in those 3-second moments is LOUD.
Stay even. Stay recruitable. 🧠
1 unselfish AB
can win a game
1 high baseball IQ play
can win a game
1 hustle play
can win a game
1 great base running read
can win a game
….And it could be early in the game!
If you REALLY want to win, dominating the “minor” details leads to “major” W’s!

"Once your commitment is greater than your feelings, that's when you get results. That's when it happens for you."
Show up when it’s boring, inconvenient, or uncomfortable, and those quiet deposits become the unstoppable momentum everyone later calls “overnight success.
One word that changed everything for me?
"Muditā"
It means finding joy in others' success. Celebrating when your teammates, friends, and family win as if their victory is your own.
Yesterday should be the last game in Pearl for Ole Miss and State. Play the Governor's Cup at the home venue opposite the 3-game set. Series in Starkville, midweek in Oxford. Then vice versa.
It made a ton of sense to play it in Jackson for years. Now it doesn't.
Something to consider. You get one time in your life to be a HS baseball player.... give it your all, you will not regret it. Promise. What you will regret (one day) is not giving your best when you had the chance to. You can be a frat boy any day. You can surf any day, you can play golf or tennis or pickle ball any day. You only get one time to be the best HS baseball player you can be!
High School parents chirping opposing players…
Grown adults yelling at kids from the stands.
If it’s between players, why are parents jumping in?
Let the kids handle. Parents Stop getting involved.
This is the difference between caring about YOUR kid and caring about THE kids.
One builds a player.
The other builds a community.
Which parent are you?
Be honest.
Growth starts with truth.
Today:
1. Look for the positives
2. Believe in yourself & others
3. Be thankful
4. Learn, improve, grow
5. Encourage someone
6. Replace HAVE TO with GET TO
7. Focus on Solutions
8. Trust in positive intentions
9. Let go of things you can’t control
10. Do your best!
Players: With the game in a state of constant selfish "look at me" antics, I urge you to be the outlier.
Be the guy that plays with class, respect, and grit.
The guy that let's his game do his talking for him.
The guy whose heart is way bigger than his mouth.
The guy who always hustles.
The guy who respects his opponent and doesn't need to degrade them.
The guy who wins and that's enough.
The guy who puts his team before himself.
This game has been played for hundreds of years. We owe it to those who came before us and paved the way to play the game right. We should honor them by playing the game hard, with class, and respect.
The game owes us nothing and we owe it everything.
Baseball is life! ⚾️
College baseball is chalked full of high school superstars who end up disappearing. It’s also chalked full of kids who didn’t have any hype in high school whatsoever who are the best players on teams.
You may think that your son is a no-brainer to succeed in college, but I would advise you to be weary of those types of thoughts.
College baseball is a completely different monster. No level of high school or travel ball can prepare you for the level of competition you’ll face when you get there.
Enjoy the ride you’re on now. You never know if it’s the last one worth being on.
Middle infielders, we don’t want the runner at 2b to know we’re there. All that glove tapping and dirt kicking isn’t doing what you think it is. Be light on your feet and be quiet.
