I really don’t understand how a building company can install windows yet leave gapping holes in the external walls allowing water to cause internal damp and mould damage for eight months. Totally bizarre, epic waste of money and potentially heightening risks to health.

In 2020 we set up this account to highlight our plight, as we faced bills of up to £118k for work @haringeycouncil had delayed for decades.

Four years on, the work is still not done & Haringey has found new ways to fleece us, charging extra for basics like covering up pipework.

They'll make our flats unsellable, and turn them into traps for disabled people.

The major works to our flats by @haringeycouncil & its contractor @EQUANS_UK include new front doors.

Since each door costs over £4,000, you'd think they'd first have considered whether residents could get furniture and white goods in or out through them.

Think again.

For the 4th time this year, @haringeycouncil has cancelled a meeting with us at short notice. This time the excuse was staff being on leave.

They are desperate to avoid contact with us, because we don't like the sub-standard work they are offering for our extortionate bills.

In 2021 @haringeycouncil said our new bathroom pods, which we must pay at least £25k for, would get interiors "at no extra cost".

Now they plan to break this promise & charge us £950 for a so-called "higher specification" - i.e. not the bog standard in their show pod below [1/4]

Apparently several void properties in #NoelPark are kept aside for decants, so we wouldn't exactly have been moved to hotels.

Which raises the question, why couldn't they build us new brick pods in the first place? (3/3)
