@RaymondArroyo@Damien95852235 Media created Leo/Trump fracas? Really? We can't serve two masters, Raymond. Catholics are supposed to be on the side of the Truth. If you attack Church teaching and the Pope do so truthfully, is all Pope Leo asks.
Help us, Mary, Mother of the Church, to seek your Son, and to find Him in Word, Sacrament and Service to “the least of these,” our brothers and sisters.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves. Many are the troubles of the just man, but out of them all the Lord delivers him” (Ps 34).
Our Redeemer is close to us always.
@seriously12121@cathfav@RichRaho Whether documented or not, Immigrants are people who have a God given right to be treated humanely. Being terrorized by unidentified, masked bullies is indefensible. You cannot say you honour Our Blessed Mother and then turn around and mistreat her children in this manner.
@rightscholar@BishopBarron Denouncing an administration that treats people inhumanely, I think, is a good cause for criticism and is expected by Christians from a man of God.
@BishopBarron God knows our pain. Prayer is raising our mind and heart to God in order to find peace. The Lord's Will Is our Peace. Do you think U.S. leaders who protect guns over children are doing God's Will? Does their prayer align with God's Will? It's kind of hypocritical, right?
@ChidiNwatu@michelinachiara@JDVance A nation of leaders who refuse to protect its children from gun violence can not possibly stand proud when singing its national anthem. It's not really the "Land of the Free."
Thank you to all those who have posted your your incredible prayers and support.
As I begin building a new Catholic media mission, I’d love your help in choosing a new name:
What would you name a news apostolate that covers the Church and the world from a Catholic perspective?
@mfjlewis@IthacaFarmer Yes, Vigano and Strickland deserved discipline for their vigorous criticisms of Pope Francis, yet they remained defiant along with their followers. I think it was extremely difficult for Pope Francis to come to the decision to exclude anyone from the life of the Church.
@mfjlewis@IthacaFarmer Pushover? No. I don't believe so, Mike. Rather, he was a good man who believed in giving people second chances. His life reflected his message of closeness, compassion, and mercy.
Pope Francis was radical and revolutionary in his unceasing compassion, mercy, and love. This is not in discontinuity with the others, but to me, Pope Francis best emulated Christ-like love, compassion, and mercy. His legacy is a lasting gift to the Church.
@austeni Your book on Pope Francis, it seems to me, is on the very theme of discontinuity. You’ve approvingly used words like “revolutionary” and “radical” in your own writings about Francis, so you’re a one of the big “discontinuity guys” on this platform Mr. Ivereigh. Own it.
@Julianne_wiley2 @Chris_SmithsJ Jesus Christ "did not live apart from the difficult experience of being expelled from his own land because of an imminent risk to his life and from the experience of having to take refuge in a society and a culture foreign to his own."
@mfjlewis @kevin_ganey It's a good article pointing out the danger of fake news attributed to Pope Leo and the harm it does by deceiving us, most especially the vulnerable. Thank you for exposing this evil.
