The economy has contracted by perhaps 30% - 40%. What's left IS the #foundationaleconomy.
That tells us two things. A lot of what some think is the foundational economy isn't and that the foundational economy is actually larger [+60%] than many thought.
Virtual @WelshGovernment Foundational Econonomy meeting chaired by @debbiegcoastal - What needs to happen NOW to prepare post crisis? @WGEconTransport @amanwy said the important thing is to make things happen. Absolutely. Need a #CanDo mindset more than ever @wg_CounselGen
The economy. Big companies with reserves may survive, but the weakest will fall.
120K freelancers and the smallest businesses are likely to fail. The #FoundationalEconomy will be devastated & there are insufficient reserves available to recover.

Let’s start planning positively for corona. If older people are confined to barracks Home delivery services can save small catering businesses from bankruptcy. Is there a plan?
@markjhooper Make the Everyday Economy more important than the extractive economy.
Stop funding snake oil salesmen from over there; start funding the woman next door but two.

Local economies often struggle because small organisations find it hard to get finance from traditional banks. Can community banks fill the gap? #neweconomy#coops@banccambria @KenSkatesAM @MatthewBrownLab https://t.co/CCQXq6I12J
Did you know #BlackFriday in Welsh is “Dydd Gwener y Gwario Gwirion” – this literally translates to “Silly Spending Friday” 🤣
Before you shop 'til you drop, remember tomorrow is #SmallBusinessSaturday - so don’t forget to show some love to your local businesses ❤️

We’ve learnt loads, but if you’ve yet to spend the 1.25 mins on the survey, we’ve not learnt from YOU.
We’re developing YOUR bank; it’ll be owned by YOU. Be great if YOU help shape its start!

We’re developing our plans & loving the fact that we can source the expertise to help us from those around us. Those around us in #Wales.
Banking can & should be foundational.
