@CHEK_News My seed library has handed out over 7000 seed packages in Chemainus since 2025, led to the development of 2 community gardens, and allowed children free access and space to garden at the library. That’s one library. Why would you ever put a barrier on food security? @gvpl

Pesticides are absorbed into the fruit from root, leaf, and skin. The soil contains pesticides and the plant absorbs it through nutrients into its cells.

We are allowing contractors (foreign and private) to sell at highest cost to outside buyer, or worse, back to us at much higher prices. This is the reality.

@KhalidQadir @rparmar_BC A Twitter comment t cannot truly capture the mismanagement. We need wood resources yes, but rent will go up either way and the current practices will destroy the forest industry. Biodiversity loss also costs us all more down stream.

@KhalidQadir @rparmar_BC An important point to this is Parmars big move to sell wood overseas bypassing local mills. Mosaic has a monopoly on all cut blocks and access. This overseas sale has closed mills in many communities and increased wood cuts through private sales directly overseas. Wholesale.

@KhalidQadir @rparmar_BC My issue with logging is old growth. On Van. Island, we are strip logging faster than even the 1980’s boom. The damage makes even tree planting impossible. Landslides, fires, and massive biodiversity loss. There will be no no sustainable tree resources in a generation.
